Coefficient is how much the cost to buy an investment increases when you buy it for the next upgrade. If the Coefficient is less than 1, the cost decreases, if it is 1, the cost stays, and if it is more than 1, the cost increases. If it is 2, the cost doubles, if it is 3, the cost triples etc. It basically uses the multiplication to do that.
